Her career started in a retail lumber yard and ranged from new-home construction to high-end remodeling. Today, Tanya Donahue is president of RI Kitchen & Bath Design+Build, soon to be RIKB Design Build, in Warwick, RI.
With Donahue’s diverse background, she has gained knowledge in budgeting, scheduling, design, sales, management and leadership. She is an active member of the Rhode Island Builder’s Association, serving as the former co-chair of the Remodelers Committee and currently serving her second term on the Board of Directors.
Donahue’s innovative approach to sales and marketing contributed to RIKB’s growth in market share. She launched a visiting chef series where she partners with local restaurants, bringing chefs into her working showroom to provide interactive cooking demonstrations. This series brings area homeowners into her showroom where they see can see dozens of kitchen and bathroom vignettes.
She’s also launched an ongoing educational seminar series, with creative topics such as “Thriving in Place – Tips for Your Forever Home,” “Cabinets 101” and “Kitchen and Bath Trends.” The educational seminars were raised to another level with the introduction of guest presenter Kevin O’Connor from “This Old House.” Since COVID-19, Donahue has converted these seminars into virtual events that the company hosts weekly.
Under Donahue’s leadership, the company has been voted “Best Places to Work by Providence Business News” for the past three years in a row, ranking No. 4 this year.
