Kitchen and cabinet designer immersed in Northwest design community
Shannon Boyle, CKBD, founder and lead designer at designloveseattle in Mercer Island, WA, began her career in Iowa as an intern to cabinet designer Mike Flanscha. During her time there, Boyle learned the nuts and bolts of the cabinet industry, and additionally earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. Her beginnings provided Boyle the foundation and expertise to launch her own Seattle-area company and bring the midwestern Plato Woodwork dealership to Seattle, all within the first 10 years of her career.
Since founding designloveseattle (formerly known as Elements KB) in 2015, Boyle has advanced into a master cabinet designer, developing a network of industry professionals that offer high-end products and quality craftsmanship. While her work encompasses a variety of design styles, Boyle is described as a purist who brings new elements into a space while defining the art of absolute functionality hidden beneath.
Over the last seven years, Boyle has been the recipient of 12 design awards. Her contributions to the NKBA Puget Sound chapter include both volunteer work as the gala co-chair as well as a council position as treasurer/secretary. She has built an Instagram following of viewers who follow her design posts and use her designs as a source of inspiration.
