Natural Wow
Eddie Leverett, Jr.
ONE eleven ltd., Las Vegas, NV
For this young couple, updating their modest kitchen with natural materials and neutral tones achieved the classic and clean look they were looking for. To arrive at the open, inviting space with a modern edge, Eddie Leverett, Jr. gutted the perimeter of the existing kitchen, lengthened the island and chose organic materials and classic, clean finishes.
The focal point that delivers the true “wow” factor in this space is the bar top on the island. Fabricated out of water-reclaimed Zebra Wood from Lake Bayano, Panama, the top features a book matched waterfall end.
The perimeter of the space provides the ideal backdrop to the dramatic island, and features white Shaker cabinetry from SOLLiD Cabinetry topped with polished Calacatta Onda marble countertops. Providing dramatic contrast, the backsplash features polished and matte black porcelain tile in a chevron pattern, which adds texture to the space. A Thermador six-burner range is paired with a custom range hood made of Black Thermory Ignite, while a Thermador French door refrigerator anchors the adjacent corner.
A Thermador dishwasher sits next to the stainless steel Ruvati sink, which gets a refreshing update with the addition of the Brizo brushed gold faucet. A brushed gold finish is also featured on the cabinet drawer and door hardware, as well as the lighting, delivering a timeless aesthetic reminiscent of precious metal.
