Original to the house, which was built in 1991, this Naples, FL master bath showed all the characteristics of its age – small counters, an outdated floorplan and the hallmark oversized tub area with a bulky surrounding deck. The homeowners reached out to BIG Renovations & Design Inc. and architectural designer Marcus Jelley to modernize the space while creating a his-and-hers vanity configuration. Other wish list items included a bigger shower with two independent showerheads and a bench.

By removing an adjacent closet and designing custom cabinetry to better suit the space, the designer was able to open up the room considerably. The cabinets feature a softly curved style, bringing a sense of modern elegance to the room. Hidden linear drains were installed in the shower and under the new bench, and the shower was sheathed with a luxurious selection of marble to deliver the elevated five-star spa aesthetic that the clients craved. A sleek Victoria + Albert tub takes the place of the old bulky tub arrangement, while Kallista and Grohe showerheads offer a luxurious couple’s shower experience.
